Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital

I visited Bara for the second time today- first time on my own. This is the largest public hospital in southern africa (and possibly the world, according to Wikipedia) servicing thousands of new patients each day. It is located in the (in)famous township of Soweto. I managed to get there and get out safely. Actually, it's usually quite safe unless you accidentally get off the highway and go toward the city center. While walking to the ICU, I ran into this sign. The Medtronic Foundation feeds in millions of dollars each year into Africa and one of the results is this Research center at Bara. Pretty cool.
